Dr. Miao graduated from Harvard University and the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic
training at the University of Pittsburgh and received advanced fellowship training in knee and shoulder arthroscopic and
reconstructive techniques as well as Sports Medicine. Dr. Miao is board certified and subspecialty certified in Orthopaedic Sports
Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic surgeons and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine,
Western Orthopaedic Association, Nevada Orthopaedic Society, Nevada State Medical Association, and Clark County Medical Association.
Prior to joining DOC, he was the Orthopaedic consultant to a large family practice/sports medicine fellowship in California. He
specializes in Sports Medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. He was also an Olympic Swimmer in
the 23rd Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Miao is currently Head Team Physician for the UFL's Las Vegas Locomotives, and
is a team physician for USA Swimming and USA Water Polo. He has served as intern physician for the USOC (USA Women's Hockey) and is a
contact physician for several local high schools. Dr. Miao emphasizes a careful and thoughtful approach to medical decision making
and encourages patients' education and active participation in their own care.
