SURGERY CENTER ADMINISTRATOR

Desert Orthopaedic Surgery Center is a premiere Orthopaedic Ambulatory Surgery Center established and solely owned by the physicians of Desert Orthopaedic Center.

Job Description: The administrator is responsible for the daily operation of the facility. The Administrator, in conjunction with the Medical Director, shall construct and implement, following Board Approval, all policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of the facility. This person should be knowledgeable of the operations of an ambulatory surgery center and be a leader, motivator, and team builder. The Administrator and Medical Director are responsible and accountable for the function and operation of the entire facility. Administrator exercises independent judgment and discretion in supervising the facility and working with medical staff, other members of the facility management team and the community.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Is ultimately responsible for all personnel in the facility
  • Leads Medical Executive Committee meetings and keep accurate minutes
  • Supervises and works closely with the Office Manager to monitor revenue cycle metrics
  • Negotiates and executes center contracts
  • Approves purchase orders and invoices for payment
  • Analyze and update fee structure

Legal/Safety:

  • Aware of and supports licensure and regulatory agency standards
  • Subject matter expert for AAAHC survey process
  • Ensure the maintenance of Center equipment is done regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards
  • Follows appropriate steps in reporting all accidents and employee injuries and completes required documentation
  • Will perform as the Risk Manager for the facility

  • Communicates effectively with members of the team, families, patients, and visitors
  • An adaptable approach to a frequently changing environment in the unit and in the health care community

  • Participates in the development of goals and attainment of goals for the facility
  • Maintains professional conduct and appearance

Education/Professional Qualifications:

  • College degree in nursing, business or related field
  • If Registered Nurse, must have current Nevada state licensure & BLS certification
  • CASC Certification, Optional Experience
  • Must have two to three years of healthcare/business management experience
  • Recent healthcare management experience preferred

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and proficiency in PC applications as required

Equipment, machines, and tools:

  • Well acquainted with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • General knowledge of office equipment
  • Understanding of building systems (Generator, Oxygen Manifolds, HVAC controls, etc.)

FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST

Requirements:

  • Previous Medical front desk experience a plus
  • Good computer skills needed - EMR knowledge a plus
  • Experience with Nevada insurance verification and benefits
  • Must enjoy working with patients in a fast paced environment
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills
  • Must be flexible and reliable in regards to schedule
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

MRI & RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

MRI Requirements:

  • ARRT registry certification required
  • Musculoskeletal Magnetic Resonance Imaging services
  • Looking for three year plus experience
  • Knowledge of an ACR or equivalent quality assurance programs preferred

Radiographer Requirements:

  • Position demands excellent computer skills and familiarity with PACS
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of computed radiography (CR)
  • Previous Orthopaedic Radiographer experience a plus
  • ARRT certification required

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Requirements:

  • Orthopaedic clinical preferred for specialty
  • Pain Management and surgical background a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced clinical environment
  • Ability to work well within a team is a must

Education and Experience:

  • Must be certified or eligible for certification as a Physician Assistant and eligible for prescriptive authority in the State of Nevada
  • Orthopaedic background preferred
