My Comeback Story: Steve G.

After multiple years of painful osteoarthritis pain in both shoulders from overzealous exercise as a youth, in mid January 2025 I had my right shoulder joint replaced and then in mid September 2025 I had my left shoulder replaced. I chose Desert Orthopaedic Center because of their favorable recommendation and Dr. Roger Fontes for his expertise in joint replacement and sports medicine. It also was very convenient to do my physical therapy sessions after each surgery at the same location as the doctor's office visits post-surgery. For both PT series I followed my therapist's guidance energetically both in-house and also added at-home stretching and exercises. I am super happy with the mobility and strength results! In mid May 2026 I've been able to return to swimming in our wonderful backyard pool -- including water play with teenage grandkids -- that I hadn't been able to do in almost a decade. It's almost like being a new person! I now understand why several people in my life continued to ask, "Why did you wait so long to get your shoulders fixed???"
