Desert Orthopaedic Center Recognized Among Nation’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers

This prestigious recognition places Desert Orthopaedic Center among an elite group of outpatient surgical facilities nationwide that demonstrate exceptional performance in patient safety, outcomes, and quality of care.

Ambulatory surgery centers play an increasingly vital role in modern healthcare, offering high-quality, cost-effective alternatives to hospital-based procedures. The U.S. News rankings are based on objective measures including complication rates, patient outcomes, and avoidance of unplanned hospital visits—key indicators of overall surgical quality.

The U.S. News & World Report 2026 ratings evaluated more than 4,400 ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) across the country in multiple specialties. Of those reviewed, only about 21% earned “Best” designation, underscoring the selectivity and rigor of the rankings.

Facilities recognized in the orthopedics and spine category—such as Desert Orthopaedic Center—achieved, on average, 29% fewer severe complications compared to their peers, reflecting a strong commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety.
