Dr. Nishiyama Named as Next President of the Nevada Orthopaedic Society
Desert Orthopaedic Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Steven Nishiyama, one of our total Joint specialists, has been named President of the Nevada Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Nishiyama most recently served as Vice President of the organization, where he contributed to efforts focused on supporting orthopaedic surgeons across the state and advancing the quality of orthopaedic care in Nevada.
The Nevada Orthopaedic Society brings together orthopaedic surgeons with a shared mission of strengthening the profession through collaboration, education, and advocacy. This organization works to promote high standards in orthopaedic practice while also addressing issues that affect both the doctors and the patients they serve, with the overarching goal of improving orthopaedic care throughout the state.
Desert Orthopaedic Center is especially proud to see its doctors so deeply involved in shaping the future of orthopaedics in Nevada. Dr. Richard Winder previously served as Immediate Past President of the Nevada Orthopedic Society, and Dr. Abdi Raissi currently serves on its Board of Directors. Together, these roles highlight the continued involvement of Desert Orthopaedic Center doctors in guiding the direction of orthopaedic care in Nevada.
The ongoing leadership of multiple doctors within the Nevada Orthopaedic Society underscores the depth of experience and commitment represented within Desert Orthopaedic Center. Their involvement reflects a shared dedication not only to clinical excellence, but also to advancing the field of orthopaedics through service, education, and professional leadership.
For patients, this means access to doctors who are actively engaged in shaping best practices and improving orthopaedic care at both the state and national level. Dr. Nishiyama’s appointment is a meaningful recognition of his leadership and dedication, and it further reinforces the culture of excellence that defines Desert Orthopaedic Center.
